My Mom's In Town

So, that's my excuse for falling behind on blogging. I promised myself that I would keep up with this for my son to look back on when he's older.

But with my Mom being here, I don't have time to just sit down and write so until she leaves, I probably won't update on anything new.

Here's an adorable picture though that my Mom took at the park this morning. I love getting cute pictures like this while at work.

He's a sweetie

I'm writing a post about traveling with a not-so-average toddler. In the meantime, enjoy these few pictures of my little cutie.

17 Months

Every month I say that I can't believe he is the age he is and again, I can't believe he's 17 months already. Before you have kids, everyone tells you how fast it goes. You don't believe them. Why would you? You have nothing to base their stories off of.

Once they are here, it's unreal. Time flies by. Literally, flies by.

I believe the first year it's about survival so you forget a lot about that year. Pictures and videos are key.

Things will get easier, they will. I never thought they would with a child who didn't sleep through the night until he was 13 months old. But once he hit 14 months, things changed drastically.

Anyways, enough about all that. Lets talk about this adorable 17 month old.

You're a ball of fire. You hate sitting for extended periods of time. I blame this on your Y chromosome. Going out to eat, forget about it. One of  us has to follow you around while you run rampid through the restaurant which leaves the other person alone at the table.

That's what happened on my most recent birthday. We did get him to sit for a few minutes when the cookie skillet came out.

 Playing with pizza dough!
Who doesn't love some ice cream on a warm cookie?

The only words you say are "Momma", "Dada" and "Papa". I can tell you want to say more but you can't quite get it out yet. I think in the next month you'll be talking much more.

Your feet stink worse than any man's foot I know. It's unreal. How do your cute little feet smell so foul?

You use your eye brows a lot more for your expressions. I know you've picked this up from us.

You love to play with your dog and terrorize him as much as you can.

Sign language is your main form of communication. Your new one is the sign for "baby". You look SO cute when you do it.

You got your 2nd haircut this month. You weren't too thrilled about it at first but after a binky and the girls water bottle, you were okay. You really do great in the chair once you're comfortable.

Getting a prize afterwards.

You have 3 full molars and I can see your 4th one coming through. Only 4 teeth in the front top, 3 on the bottom front. You're also getting your first canine, the top left one. That one seems to be giving you some trouble. I didn't even know you had 2 molars until I happened to see them one day while feeding you. The amber teething necklace is a God send.

You're mostly in 12 month clothing still with some 18 month. You were a size 4 in disposable diapers and a medium in cloth.

You've recently become obsessed with cartoons. We aren't too thrilled about it but sometimes it allows us to get something done. Your favorite is Gaspard & Lisa.

You're becoming more independent. You want to feed yourself, turn the T.V. on yourself, etc.

You wave when you poop and I think it's hilarious. I don't know if you think we don't know what you're doing when you wave to us but you wave, smile and poop. You're funny buddy.

You've recently been attached to your froggie (see above) and your blanket. It's pretty adorable!

And lastly.......you sleep AMAZINGLY now. THANK YOU!!!!! You never wake up in the middle of the night now and you can finally put yourself to sleep. As of October 7th, you've wanted to lie in your crib without me rocking you to sleep. So, that's what I've been doing and you wave to me as I'm walking out of the room. You don't make a peep, you roll around and put yourself to sleep. I love it. My back loves it. After rocking you for well over 16 months, I feel SO accomplished that you've somehow figured out you can do it yourself.

You're one amazing little boy. You light up my world more than you'll ever know. I love the person you are becoming. You've got to be the sweetest boy I know. You give me hugs and kisses all the time even without having to ask for them. When we're all together, you want nothing besides Mommy. You've got my heart little man and I want you to have nothing but the best. You're the greatest gift God has ever given me and I think Him every night for you.

I LOVE you more than the world.

For the love of bananas

I like bananas. Mr. Amadorable likes bananas. My Mom is severely allergic to bananas. I worried my kid(s) would possibly have the allergy. Luckily, that didn't happen. At least not with this little boy.

My son will most likely turn into a banana. He eats sometimes 2+ bananas a day. Maybe he wants to be a monkey. He sure does love monkey's too.

If only I could have my own banana tree in the backyard to support this addiction, I'd be one happy Momma.

Legs crossed and all.

Here's a little video for your viewing pleasure. Yes, he's also addicted to the tv. I am not happy about that.

He Melts My Heart

This kid. Right here. Melts. My. Heart!

How fitting that he's peeking through a hole that looks like a "P".

A Kid Who Needs The East

My son, since day 1, has loved the outdoors. If he's ever been cranky and you just walked him outside, he'd stop crying or fussing. No joke.

If either I or my husband put our shoes on, mention the car or a walk or open the door to go outside, he drops whatever he is doing and runs to us. He bolts to the door or his shoes and nods his head profusely until we take him outside.

Once he's out there, he's in a whole nother world. He loves to play in the rocks and water. Grass? Forget about it, he couldn't care less.

The problem is that he can't go outside 6 months out of the year here because it's 90+ degrees. That poses a problem. He doesn't know why he can't go outside nor does he care that it feels like you're chilling inside an oven. He wants to be outside.

My son could be outside for 12 hours a day, with no problem. He loves to explore and learn new things. He smells the flowers, picks up rocks and studies them, watches cars go by in amazement, looks up at planes and does the sign for one then asks for more when it's gone out of his site.

I love watching him when he's outside. I love watching how he grows and learns when he's out there. I hate when I have to tell him "no" because we'd die of heat stroke if outside for more than 15 minutes.

 Look Mom, a plane!

How am I supposed to say "no" to a face like that? So innocent and sweet.

So, my conclusion is that this kid needs to live on the East Coast where he CAN play outside every day of the year if he wanted to. He needs to be the kid he wants to be and I don't believe he can be that kid living in Arizona.

And that leads us to a serious decision to make in the next few years. It's scary and exciting but everything changes when a child comes into the world.

More to come on that in another post.

Welcome to The Amadorables

Welcome! I am Mrs. Amadorable and I will be the spokes person for my family and this blog. I'm in my early 30's, married to an amazing man, Mr. Amadorable, and we have an AMAZING little boy who's almost 17 month's old whom we will call him PG Amadorable.

The life I live is a life I never expected but love. I always pray for more but honestly, what I have is all I *need*. I have my health, family, friends, a job, a house, dog, my husband and perfectly made little boy. Everything is else isn't important.

I've started this blog only for my family. To have somewhere that I can write down what's happening with us and our son. I want him to be able to look back on this and see what he was like, what we did as a family, and how we grew together.

Here we are, in April, having pictures taken for PG Amadorable's 1st birthday.
