PGAmadorable is a sweet, loving, happy little boy and it shows. Everywhere I go, someone comments on how handsome/adorable/cute or sweet he is.
As his Mother, I knew he was different than most kids his age but with him being my first, I really didn't have much to compare him to.
There's something about him that draws people to him. I've seen it and others have said it.
"I don't know what it is about him but I'm more drawn to him than any other kid who comes in here."
He's special, I do know that. He'll give anyone a kiss or a hug. He'd give you his last cookie if you wanted it. He shares like there's no tomorrow.
Women have told him they would love to give him their phone number so they can hang out with him.
Others have asked him if he'd like to go home with them for the night and the polite boy that he is, he shakes his head yes.
I've made one very special connection with a woman I work with. She's a little younger than my Mom, only has one child (living in California) and three grandchildren. It may be because she misses her grandkids so she globs on to my son but she loves him as if he were her own. We go over to her house every Tuesday for dinner and she and her husband play with him. They love it and so does my son. They have a huuuuge backyard with grass so he enjoys kicking his ball around. He also loves picking lemons off their lemon tree. Every once in a while one of their cats will come out so he'll chase the cat around for a bit.
This relationship will probably be one we'll have forever. She's taken us in as if I were here daughter and I couldn't be more thankful for that.
The reason for this post was to write down some of the connections I've made with people so I'll remember them to later tell my son what an impact he had on everyone.
What happened last night is what sparked this post.
We were at Target getting only bread and bananas. (This kid eats bananas like they are going out of style. 2-3 a day) We were in line and my son asked for a piece of bread. I told him we had to wait until after we paid for it.
The lady infront of us said "I'd love a piece of bread too.".
"Oh, but he will eat it with nothing on it."
"So will I."
We laughed for a minute and then the man behind me, maybe in his late 40's/early 50's said "Does he love bread?"
"Oh yeah!"
"This may be weird but I have a ton of bread in my car that will go bad if I don't give it away. It's really good bread. If you'd like some, I could meet you out in the parking lot and give you a few loaves."
Thinking in my head "That's odd. I wonder if he made it or if he sells it."
"Did you make it?"
"No, it's from a friend who got it from a bakery."
"Okay, awesome, thank you so much."
So, I paid for my things and waited for him to pay for his. We walked out to his car (a mini roller skate is what I call them) that he was loaning while his car was being worked on. I don't know if he thought I would find his very small car odd so he had to tell me it was a loaner or what.
Anyways, he gave me 2 loaves and asked if I wanted more. There's no way I could hold more than 3 loaves of bread in my house without going bad since our freezer is too full.
I thanked him and wished him a Merry Christmas. Now, if I had been alone, I wouldn't have gotten 2 free loaves of bread. But because my kid is super duper cute and personable, we scored some free bread from a very nice man.
I hope he has a wonderful Christmas and something unexpected (but nice) is reciprocated back to him.
